Afrodisíaco Cultural Foundation
Our mission is to investigate the origins of African drums in Panama and the cultural pathways through which they arrived, evolved, and continue to shape local practices. We seek to document Panamanian traditions in their broadest expression—rituals, celebrations, craftsmanship, dance, and everyday customs—preserving the knowledge passed from generation to generation. A key part of this work is the collection of traditional songs: ancestral chants, work songs, spiritual melodies, and community rhythms that reflect the lived experiences of Afro-descendant populations and Panamanians as a whole.
